Think you can outsmart AI? Announcing ‘Behind The Mask’ – Our all-new cybercrime role-playing game | Play Now

The global conference season in the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem is upon us, with the World Economic Forum (WEF) kicking it off last month in Davos, Switzerland. The next big celebration would be called a unicorn startup, if such terms were applied to conferences. The reference is, of course, to LEAP,  the global platform established in 2022 by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) that has become renowned for showcasing future technologies and connecting the world’s most disruptive technology professionals.

LEAP returns to Malham, Saudi Arabia for its third iteration, following its record-breaking debut as the largest tech event in history. Bringing together thousands of companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders in the tech sector, the conference nurtured $6.4 billion in initiatives and projects in 2022 and, in 2023, $9bn in the Middle East and North Africa. This three-year-old event stands at the forefront of technological progress, serving as a vibrant hub where the adoption of cutting-edge technologies happens first and fastest.

This year, the conference promises an even more awe-inspiring array of technology across various sectors, from energy and finance to education, digital entertainment, healthcare, transportation, and, notably, smart cities. It  is also a focal point for the most inspiring global technology narratives and case studies, particularly those currently transforming Saudi Arabia.

To that point, in advance of the LEAP 2024 conference, Abdullah Al-Swaha, the Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, recently announced the launch of the ‘Generative Artificial Intelligence for All’ initiative. This program highlights the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA’s) commitment to advancing AI research, development, and ethical governance, and underscores its aspiration to shift to a data-driven economy and become a leader in the digital and AI sectors.
