Retrieval-Augmented Generation / RAG

A technique used with large language models and other artificial intelligence models that involves searching a specific dataset for information relevant to a prompt (retrieval) and then using the data found to generate responses or outputs that are more relevant and/or of better quality than responses or outputs that could be gotten from general datasets
